Edwards would score as senior Autumn Parson grounded out to short. After Edwards stole second a wild pitch was thrown and she went to third as Kulynycz scored. After stealing second she went to third and Johnson scored as Edward hit a single to center. The Hawks took the lead in the third as Johnson hit a one out double to left center and went to third on a Kulynycz single. Endo then scored when Mikka Vrankovich singled through the left side. With one out Juliana Endo doubled to left center scoring Poore. Kristina Poore led-off the inning with a double to left. UMES (8-30) trailed early by two runs when the Terriers scored both in the second inning on three hits. With the bases loaded it wasn't a senior, but a freshman, in the form of Maribeth Kulynycz, who dropped a blooper over the first baseman's head into right field to score Dingle and secure the 5-4 win. SFC (2-37) decided to intentionally walk lead off-hitter and senior Marlee Johnson who had recorded two hits in the game. Heather Patnode went to sacrifice her over to third but it was a fielder's choice and both were safe. Following tie-breaker procedure Dingle started the inning at second base. It was fellow senior Tiffany Dingle who crossed the plate with the winning run.
In a fitting end senior Christina Mason got the complete game win throwing ten innings, allowing nine hits, four runs, three earned, three walks and striking out seven. They collected ten hits, including five from the bat of Jenille Edwards who was perfect in the game, adding a run and two RBIs.
